Is anyone else thinking on their New Year’s resolutions? I know I am, and one of the things that I’m thinking of is that I need to work harder at coming up with some new dinner ideas. Well, new meal ideas for that matter. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, they are all in a rut, and I need to start changing things up a bit! One way that I intend to do that is by continuing with the menu planning. When I menu plan, I always spend time in the blogosphere, looking around and seeing what other normal people are cooking during the week. One blog in particular where I’ve been getting some inspiration has been from the $5 Dinners blog. I’ve tried a few things from over there, and they’ve been great successes so far. Right now Erin is also doing a giveaway on her blog to promote her new book! Her blog has inspired a book, and that is one cookbook I’d love to see on my shelves. Make sure you head on over there and enter her giveaway- she’s giving away 10 copies a day for 2 weeks! That sounds like pretty good odds to me!
I first encountered Erin’s blog through Menu Plan Monday, a regular weekly blog event hosted by I’m An Organizing Junkie. When I spend time at Laura’s blog every week, not only am I inspired to menu plan, but I’m also very inspired to do more organizing. She’s got amazing tips and ideas every single week, and I get some serious organizing envy quite often. I’m really looking forward to seeing what she’s got up her sleeves for the new year, as the beginning of a new year always inspires me to be more organizational, at least for a little while. I also get so much dinner inspiration each week from the hundreds of bloggers who chime in each week with their menu plans. This week is clearly no exception. Without further ado, here is this week’s menu plan. It’s going to be a lovely week with no dance class, no mid-week church, and no having to run around. We’ll be cooking up some delicious Christmas gifts as well, so it’s going to be a great week!
Monday: Steak Burgers, Carrot Coins, Boulangerie Beans and Potatoes, Sliced Pears, Pumpkin Cheesecake Dessert
Tuesday: Easy Egg Casserole, Bacon, Applesauce
Wednesday: Pizza Night- BBQ Duck Pizza
Thursday: Steaks, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Veggie TBD
Friday: Pumpkin & Black Bean Chili, Corn Muffins
Saturday: Sliced Ham with Mashed Potato Pierogi
