Just read your post on beef and I wanted to offer a couple suggestions for you.
Have you checked out the Beef, It’s what for Dinner website & Facebook page – I have found a couple great recipes on there. On the Facebook page they have publish a weekly recipe and various people make it and leave comments as to results, tips, suggestions etc.
I also have a favorite recipe that I use for those tougher cuts of roast that I can get on great sales.
1 C Beef Broth
Garlic, Onion, Marjoram, Sage, etc to my taste that day
1/2 Can of Coca-Cola (or other cola – has to be cola, the acid in the syrup tenderizes the meat)
2 lb roast
Cook in slowcooker/crockpot on low for 6-8 hours.
Upon getting home I remove the beef and shred with a couple forks. I then pour the juices into a pot and simmer to intensify the flavors or use cornstarch/flour to thicken.
Adding ketchup to the sauce also creates a nice BBQ sauce if you want a more messy/juicy sandwich.
Hope this gives you a couple more avenues to explore for more ideas.
Thanks for the wonderful site and the great ideas.
