“And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (NLT)
When we first discussed the reality of homeschooling our children, it was kind of crazy and out of the blue. But the more we talked about it, the more it became obvious that this was a path that we should take. Who knows our children better than us? With a classroom of two instead of a classroom of 20-plus, each of our children can receive all the individual attention they need. We can explore deeper the subjects that interest them the most, and we can all learn to love the process of learning.
We’re very excited about this new journey! We realize it’s going to be a trial- that some things are not going to work as well as we’d hoped, and we also realize that as we make our way through the first year, any expectations we may have now may very well be thrown out the window at any time. We are flexible and mold-able, and are looking forward to sharing what we learn here on our new blog.
It is our goal to do our absolute best each and every day in the Sacred Sprouts Schoolhouse. Every day we will put forth our best effort and leave the results up to God. That best effort will come from both students and teachers, children and parents. We’re looking forward to the path that God has laid before us, and with his help, our journey will be successful.
