If you have purchased a frozen turkey for Thanksgiving this year, and you are planning to cook it Thursday, your bird should now be moved to the refrigerator for thawing.
As far as anything else goes for the big meal, today you can assemble your homemade pie dough into disks and pop them into the fridge for pie baking and assembly on Wednesday.
Any homemade rolls or bread that you wish to make could be baked up today and then frozen. Then Thursday you can pull them out of the freezer early in the day and pop them in the oven to freshen up before the big meal.
Make ice cubes over the next few days for your guests to add to their beverages.
Those are the only things I can think of that could be done today as far as food goes.
Other things that can be done to prepare (other than general cleaning) would be to launder and press any table linens that you’ll be using. Also, go ahead and get your wine glasses freshly washed, and you could even get your table set up ahead of time. I like to do that to ensure that I have enough seats for everyone, and that we can figure out how best to maneuver the food.
Every year my kids make placecards for everyone attending dinner. That can easily be done today, and then you can give thought as to where you would like each guest to sit.
Happy Thanksgiving week!
