My floor is so clean this morning! Normally, that’s not really cause for celebration, but I decided to give some homemade floor cleaner a try. Wow! It worked much better than I expected! Spots that normally take a little elbow grease didn’t, and even better- my floor actually feels clean. The last time it felt this clean was when I got down on my hands and knees with a Magic Eraser… yeah, that was a chore!
Now I just need to find a great mop. Is there such a thing?
I have linoleum floors in my house, and this worked beautifully on them. There wasn’t and isn’t any odor of vinegar in the house. Just nice clean floors that I wouldn’t hesitate to eat off of. I found the recipe at Effortless Savings– if you have wood or wood laminate floors, she has an alternative cleaner for you, so be sure and check it out.
Homemade Floor Cleaner
- 2 gallons hot water
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 TBS dish soap
Combine everything in a mop bucket, stir together and use immediately.
awesome, and when you find a great mop, let us all know!
That’s the trick isn’t it? The best thing I’ve ever found for cleaning floors is a sturdy rag and my hands. Not my idea of a good time.
that it awesome. I will definately be trying it out this weekend.
