pancakes

Hurry! Go get yours before they’re gone!  Blueberries, I think, are my favorite.  I can buy them by the ten-pound case, and we can go blueberry mad for a few days and not worry about running out.  We start with blueberry pancakes, and then turn to blueberry muffins and blueberry pie.  We add them by the handful to every salad, cereal, and dessert, and eat them out of hand whenever we have the mind to.  And when a few days have gone by, and we’ve barely dented one case, I can put the rest of the blueberries straight into freezer bags and freeze them for a much needed hit of summer in the dead of winter.  No processing required- just pop in a freezer bag and freeze.

If you’re reading this locally, Sunny Hill Farms in Suamico has plenty to share- they’re only $2.90 a pound for big and beautiful berries, well worth the trek.  I was told yesterday that they should have blueberries available for about six weeks- hurry and get yours!

  1. Thanks for the suggestion, Erika, think I’ll go there. As soon as you said that, all I could think of were blueberry bars.
