Every once in a while, an idea comes along that just makes me smack myself in the head and think to myself “why didn’t I think of that?” This is one of those things, and while I’ll apologize for it not being a recipe or even food related, I know that there is someone out there who is going to read this and love me for sharing it. Because there are things that drive a mom bonkers sometimes. Things like toys not being sorted and just thrown into whatever baskets are closest. And things like clothes piled in the closet on the floor- next to the hamper instead of inside. And these:
Headbands. Dozens of headbands for my little girl who has a headband fetish. Where on earth does one keep dozens of headbands? And how can you keep from stepping on them, breaking them, and causing tears and gnashing of teeth? So let’s make a ridiculously easy headband holder- shall we?
Start by gathering your materials.
You need one roll of paper toweling (I took the plastic wrapper off), 2 feet of ribbon, cut into 1-foot lengths, and one piece of fleece, mine was approximately 24 inches by 24 inches.
Now, I didn’t take photos step by step of this because I think you’ll get the idea from the finished product. You lay your fleece out flat on a surface- floor, table, counter, etc. (I know, I know, finding a surface in the first place sometimes…) Next, center your paper towel roll down on the edge of the fleece and roll it up like a piece of candy. Take the ends, bunch them together and tie them with your ribbon. You can make pretty bows if you’d like, or just tie a knot, doesn’t really matter to me. And then you have your finished product- it should look like a giant piece of candy when you’re done.
Now gather all those headbands and start sticking them on- easy as pie. It holds the headbands together in one place and looks really cute on a shelf in your daughter’s room. She can see all the headbands at once and return them to the holder when they come off her head. No doubt the novelty will wear off in a few weeks, but for now, Abigail is loving her headband holder.
Now we just need to figure out what to do with all the headbands that didn’t fit- seems we need to make another one. *sigh*.
THANKYOU SO MUCH! THIS REALLY HELPED ME! I’VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND SOMETHING LIKE THIS BUT COULDN’T AND NOW I CAN JUST DO IT BY MYSELF! YOU’RE THE BEST!
