When you make pizza as often as we do, which seems to be a lot lately, you’re always on the lookout for new pizza toppings. Granted, you can top them with just about anything and they turn out spectacularly.
Take for instance, this amalgamation of pizza.
Instead of pizza sauce, I used oil into which had been dribbled red pepper flakes and a scampi seasoning. Then the crust was topped with pork sausage, artichoke hearts, red bell pepper, green onions, mushrooms, parsley, feta and mozzarella cheeses. Fantastic! (Especially the feta- note to self, next time use much more feta!)
But most often, at least for the kids, the pizza ends up with red bell pepper, Canadian bacon, pineapple, sausage, and on Abigail’s half of pizza, pepperoni. When only one out of four prefer pepperoni, a full size package can go bad before we use it. Not so with these little guys.
These little packets of dime-sized pepperoni are the perfect size for topping pizza! They’re probably also perfect if you have pint-sized children who like to snack on pepperoni. (Coralea, I’m looking at you!) This was well worth the $3.50 I spent on the package at the grocery store.
