After months and months of waiting, it has finally arrived.  Strawberry season here in Wisconsin is officially underway.

Our favorite patch is Sunny Hill Farms in Suamico.  We’ve never been disappointed picking there, and it is well worth the drive.  I also placed my order today for the blueberries which will be available in July.  Sunny Hill is closed on Saturdays, so plan accordingly if you want to pick.

I’ve also heard good things about Cuff’s Berry Farm in Hortonville, but we’re so loyal to our friends at Sunny Patch, that we haven’t been to check it out.

The jam making is about to be underway, and no doubt, we’ll be making at least one more trip to the patch.  These first berries are large and quite tart- but there are tons on the bushes still to ripen, so I expect berry season to last a while this year if the weather holds out.
