I’ve never seen my little girl so excited, enamored, and just plain thrilled. She completely enjoyed her Nutcracker experience, and can’t wait for next year. Last night she told me she was sad that it was all over, and I can’t say that I blame her. It was wonderful, and she was wonderful. Here are some pictures of her in her battle mouse costume, and then one of her in her Chinese costume with her Auntie Lizzie.

And then her she is at the end of a very long day yesterday. She got a trophy for all her hard work. She is very proud of that trophy and it already has a place of honor in her bedroom. This morning she was listening to her Nutcracker CD, naming all the dances and thinking of them in her head. The whole experience made quite the impression on both our kids, and I suspect there will be many, many more Nutcrackers to come for this household.

  1. Erika, you have a beautiful daughter! Thanks for posting about her Nutcracker story – what fun!

  2. What fun for both of you! Just today, I also saw a local ballet group perform the Nutcracker–a holiday treat, for sure!

  3. I was hoping you’d put up pictures! She looks great…and so happy. I never did Nutcracker but was the “lead” for a ballet where a little girl goes to sleep and dreams of a toy show where all the toys come to life. That was SUCH a fun experience. Keep it up Abigail!!!

  4. Oh my gosh, Claire, happy does not even begin to describe. Sunday was a real let-down for her I think. She has aspirations of being Clara, but I think she most has her heart set on the Sugar Plum Fairy once she’s much older.
