I just have a few random bits and pieces to throw out there at ya today. I’m trying to focus myself on making a menu plan for the next week so I can update Menu Planning 101, but I keep distracting myself and walking away from it. There will be a new menu up later today- I promise.
If you were checking in here hoping for a recipe today, I don’t have one here, but I do have a fresh black bean dip up over at Kids Cuisine this morning. Quick, effortless, and delicious, it’s great as a dip by itself, as part of a layered dip, or as a base for enchiladas.
If you’ve been eyeing up the Challah recipe a few posts back, you simply have to check out the round-up of Bread Baking Day for March. There are 49 scrumptious looking breads over there- the tough part is picking just one or two to give a try~
And about that Orange Yogurt Cake from the other day…Zander wanted me to give an update on that one. He LOVED that cake. I know what you’re thinking, what child doesn’t love cake? Well, mine. Zander is always game to try cake, but a few bites in and he’s done with it. And if there’s frosting, he’ll usually just eat that and leave the cake behind. But this cake, he inhaled, licking his lips the whole way. The last two days, mid-morning he would walk in, see that there was still cake on that plate and quietly say that he wished cake was a good snack. Being the good mom that I am, let him have a piece both times. And just now, he told me how much he loved that orange cake, and he wishes we could make it again because he misses it. So do yourself a favor and try that cake. If you’re hesitating because you don’t like orange things- you’re in luck because you can also use lemon juice and zest and it will work great too.
And now, I’m off to make myself make a menu plan. Happy Wednesday!
