Here I find my son, hiding behind the pea bushes, helping himself to a little snack.  Normal kids sneak into the pantry and find the cookies, or sneak into the freezer and find the ice cream.  Not my kids.  There is nothing they enjoy more than a freshly picked pea or bean off the plant.  Hopefully the snow peas will last just a little longer, they love snacking on them so much.  When the beans start coming in, they’ll start nibbling on those instead.  And even though I may have had some plans for those snow peas, I could never get angry.  What Mom could get annoyed with their children for munching on vegetables.

Now if I could just get him to try those beets…

  1. Tracy, he’s definitely missing the peas. Yesterday he followed me around the garden and since there weren’t any peas or beans, he helped himself to a few spinach leaves. 🙂
