Well, yesterday’s veg day wasn’t so good.  I started off the day by making a curry for lunch.  The recipe was from The Flexitarian Table by Peter Berley, and was a recipe for Potato and Rhubarb Curry.  I was all excited to use my rhubarb in a savory manner, and it was a curry- how could it be bad?  It may not have been exactly bad, but it sure was bland.  And I even used whole spices freshly ground instead of the powders called for.  I had been thinking about toasting them up too, but decided not to take that extra step.  I should have.  And I should have doubled the spices because it was just plain blah and boring.  The rhubarb completely disappeared into the curry, and if it added anything, I sure couldn’t tell.  I won’t share the photo because it’s not the most photogenic curry I’ve eaten, and I won’t share the recipe because it’s completely forgettable.

But what I do want to share is a new project I’ve been working on.  While I know in my head that I really didn’t need another blog to keep track of, what I did need is a way to keep track of my garden progress.  I keep making mental notes to myself, and that’s just no way to remember next year what I’ve done this year.  So I have a new blog called Garden Notes.  I am not going to promise to be a good updater over there, but as things come up or I take new pictures, that’s where they will go.  It’s really just a place for me to have all my Garden Notes in one place for quick reference.  If you’re interested in gardening at all, go ahead and check it out.  I expect that in the winter it could go several months without an update, and that’s okay, but it will be nice to drop in and look it over in mid-January when the seed catalogs start rolling in.

In other blog news, I’m going to be changing my look here later on today.  I’m having problems with my template, sadly, so I’m going to have to switch it up.  This template doesn’t seem to like the recent updates to WordPress, and for some reason it’s not dating things in the archives correctly.  Hopefully the bugs I have will be ironed out with a new template, so don’t freak out if you’re stopping by and see several looks in a short period of time.  Sometimes, that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
